Dr. Joshi is an ophthalmologist, specializing in lens implants. He attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey to receive his medical degree. He completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and an Ophthalmology Residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Lawrence August, MD

Dr. August started the practice in 1978. He did his undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Michigan. He completed a surgical internship and Ophthalmology residency at Harbor General UCLA Medical Center and currently focuses on general medical ophthalmology.
I have loved the practice of ophthalmology and the great relationships I have developed with my patients over more than 40 years now. I would do it all over again.

Dr. August's hobbies are coaching his sons in soccer, basketball and especially baseball and now playing with his grandchildren. He has been married to his wife, Marcia, for over 50 years.
Gautam Vangipuram, MD

Dr. Vangipuram or Dr. “Ram” for short is a board-certified ophthalmologist
with a subspecialty in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal
diseases with a wealth of experience in macular degeneration, diabetic
retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, complex retinal tears and
detachments, floaters, ocular inflammation, macular holes, macular puckers,
and inherited diseases of the retina.
Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Ram received his Bachelor’s
degree in bioengineering with a minor in chemistry at the University of
Pittsburgh where he graduated with the highest honor as a Summa Cum
Laude. He then obtained his medical degree at the University of Illinois. He
then traveled to the west coast to complete his ophthalmology training at the
University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Ram then completed his subspecialty
two year vitreoretinal fellowship at the Barnes Retina Institute/Washington
University St. Louis.
Dr. Ram has an extensive background in retinal research and has authored
numerous papers in the peer-reviewed ophthalmology literature.He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of societies including
the American Society of Retina Specialists and Los Angeles Society of
Ophthalmology. He is a staff physician at Torrance Memorial Medical Center
and performs surgeries at Torrance Surgery Center and Memorial Care
Outpatient Surgical Center in Long Beach.
In his free time, Dr. Ram enjoys his days with his wife, daughter, and dog
Scout, and loves to play tennis and ski.

Jonathan Go, DO

Dr. Jonathan Go is a Board-certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, practicing at South Bay Eye Institute in Redondo Beach, California. A California native, Dr. Go received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Davis.
He then attended medical school at the Touro College of Medicine, California, where he graduated with Sigma Sigma Pi honors and was a founding member of the Touro chapter of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. During this time, he also traveled to Taiwan to augment his medical training in global health.
Dr. Go completed his internship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He then went on to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at the Lake Erie College of Medicine program in Miami, Florida. During his time there, Dr. Go was elected on numerous occasions to represent the state of Florida on Capitol Hill. He was also elected as chief resident and served as the sole resident representative on the residency planning board. During this time, Dr. Go received multiple nationally recognized awards for his academic accomplishments and published numerous academic papers, including manuscripts in the American Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology and Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today. His expertise and innovative thinking led to a consulting role with a pharmaceutical company, where he contributed to the development of cutting-edge ophthalmology treatments.
Dr. Go specializes in comprehensive ophthalmic care, with particular expertise in cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He is dedicated to building meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients and consistently strives for excellence in eye care.
Outside of his professional practice, Dr. Go enjoys an active lifestyle that includes running, hiking, and exploring California's natural beauty. He is also passionate about culinary arts and digital health education, regularly creating educational content to help people better understand and optimize their health and fitness.
Erica liu, MD

Dr. Erica T. Liu is a Bay Area native who graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in Neurobiology and Public Health. Following an enlightening career detour doing email marketing for Google, she returned to her path to medical school and hasn’t looked back.
Dr. Liu completed her medical training at the University of California, Irvine, followed by an Ophthalmic Pathology and Research fellowship at the University of Utah, Moran Eye Center. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at Tufts Medical Center. A Californian at heart, she returned to The Golden State for a clinically and surgically intensive fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the Shiley Eye Institute of the University of California, San Diego. She has had extensive Trauma experience at the University of New Mexico Hospitals and cutting-edge Refractive Surgery training with the Navy Refractive Surgery Center.
Throughout her undergraduate and post-graduate training, Dr. Liu has been passionate about providing vision care for the underserved, advocating for patient rights and access to care. She has written multiple book chapters and has published both articles on advanced intraocular lens technologies and case reports in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports and the Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Before becoming a surgeon, Dr. Liu had PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) at the recommendation of her surgeon due to her refractive correction and thinner tissue. Having experienced PRK vision correction herself more than a decade ago, she is thrilled to be able to provide the same gift of hassle-free clear vision to others. She is excited that there are now more excellent options for her patients and has performed almost 10,000 procedures in her career so far.

Dr. Sagar Rambhia is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon with specialized training in the latest medical and surgical treatments for eye disease. He completed both his undergraduate and medical degrees at Case Western Reserve University and went on to complete his residency at the renowned Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.
Dr. Rambhia provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on laser cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma procedures, and dry eye management. He is committed to a patient-centered approach, ensuring each individual receives thoughtful, personalized care tailored to their vision needs. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rambhia enjoys spending time outdoors and playing tennis with his wife, Brenna.

Dr. Grace Y. Ma is a board-certified and licensed optometrist who has been practicing at South Bay Eye Institute since January 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Genetics at UC Davis, and Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and completed her Doctor of Optometry at Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University).
She specializes in primary care in optometry; general and specialty contact lens fitting including soft, RGP as well as myopia management MiSight contact lenses. She co-manages refractive surgery consultation, cataract and glaucoma management with the ophthalmologists. She is passionate about quality patient care and actively involving with local, state and National optometric associations to achieve the goals of such care.
She and her husband have 2 children and have enjoyed living in the South Bay for the last twenty years. In her time outside of work, she loves traveling with her family and learning new skills; at the same time hoping to sharpen her crafts in equestrian, ballroom dancing, martial arts and embroidery. She is fluent in Mandarin with beginner skills of Spanish and Korean.
Andrew Young, OD

Dr. Andrew Young earned his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UCLA. His clinical focus includes comprehensive primary eye care, general and specialty contact lens fittings, and the co-management of refractive surgery, cataract, and glaucoma care. He also has expertise with advanced technologies such as the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL).
Outside of optometry, Dr. Young lives in the South Bay and enjoys spending time with his German Shepherd, traveling, and exploring new restaurants. He is an avid snowboarder and gamer, and you can often find him at the beach or cheering on the LA Lakers at an NBA game.
